Default 1999 Jetta Head

My Son's Jetta started fogging water out the exhaust about a week ago. I've pulled the engine down to the block. I think there is a crack in the head, but I see nothing. Are these heads prone to crack? The gasket looked fine.

When does the water seem to come out? When you start the car or after running it for a bit?

Seems to be more as it warms up, but all the time. and on the subject of this engine, where the heck is the engine code. None of the local auto parts can figure out what head gasket I need without it.
