Default 1998 Jetta Intrmit won't start

Hi, new to the Forum. My wife's 1998 Jetta GLS has been having a problem for the last year or so and it's getting worse, every once in a while it won't start for her. The engine doesn't turn and the relay doesn't click, she just turns the key and nothing happens, then 10 min later it will work just fine. I've cleaned and tightened the battery terminals and it didn't help. I can't get it to happen reliably enough to troubleshoot, but i refuse to believe that I'm the only Jetta owner to ever have this problem. Any help you guys can offer would be much appreciated.

These cars ahve the worst starting tendencies ever!! Usually it's something stupid like water got in and jsut needs to dry. Did you ever get a fix for this? I would talk to the dealer.
