1997 jetta hit no start

Welcome to the forum.
Got hit where? There is probably an inertia switch that cuts of the fuel pump in the foot well somewhere.
You press the button on the end to reset it.
But if you have no spark I would guess at the 109 relay which supplies power to the ecu. These can go at anytime so I would keep a spare one in the glovebox.

Hit in front. I agree but 12 vw dealers and 7 vw mechs say that model doesn't have one. no airbag deploy and it cranks so they say no anti theft prob. no fuel also. I've looked and can't find switch there or in trunk.
