Default 1997 jetta gt how to change fuel and air filter

Hi, I recently bought a 1997 Volkswagen jetta and I am quite pleased with it. I've been making little improvements where I can, and just to get my bases covered I bought a fuel filter and air intake filter for it. Just wondering if anyone has done this before and if they have any advice. Thanks!

It's not TDI, its a gas '97 jetta gt. I decided just to get down and dirty and put the air filter in yesterday, which made the engine run a little better. Today I plan to put in the fuel filter. I would like to know where the fuel pump fuse/relay is on the vehicle though. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Successfully replaced the engine air filter two days ago, and yesterday did the fuel filter. I found a really helpful website and just needed to buy some penetrating oil to loosen some of the 17mm nuts and hose clamp screws. Thanks for your replies though!
