Hey guys I'm trying to replace a door on my 1996 Jetta GLS. I have the right sized Star drive screwdriver bit.... but cant get nearly enough torque on to it to get the door hinge off. Any tool recommendations?

Are you talking about the screws in the door card?

Talking about the hinge bolt on the door side

 

If they are torx then buy some quality bits as cheap ones may shear off if they are that tight.

 

Every Torx socket set I've bought is too long and doesn't fit in the space... I bought a right angle torx wrench set, cant get the dang bolts loose, despite the perfect fit. Ended up stripping the wrench. Its a T40 size by the way.

 

Just bought this set.... waiting to see if they work. they should fit.
