1995 Jetta 2.0 clutch and flywheel question

Im replacing my clutch in my jetta and i was wondering about a few things if anyone could help me out. I was wondering if anyone knows the stock size and weight of the flywheel because i was thinking about maybe getting a lighter one. I was also wondering what the difference between the dampened, pre-dampened and non dapened clutches are. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: 1995 Jetta 2.0 clutch and flywheel question

they put springs in the clutch disc to move alittle as you let it out this helps to keep it from chattering or breaking appart
dont know abought pre dampened
the 1.8 turbos have a duelmass flywheel that acts as the dapper and has a solid disc

if this is whatyou are meaningby dampened
dont know the weight of the flywheel they arnt very heavy on the older 2.0

The pre-dampened clutches come with little extra springs on the back and its mainly used to eliminate the chatter and noise. If you are racing with those though i really wouldnt recommend it since all the pressure that is being applied to the disk is mostly likely to break the extra springs easier.

As far as the flywheel, if you want to go lighter you should go with the lightweight flywheel here is a link to where you find one
