Question '07 Jetta pop sound in wheel well

I have a 2007 2.5l Jetta. I only have 15,000 miles on it and drive only to work and home and around a small vacinity of where i live.
My problem is i have for awhile been hearing a poppin sound from the right front wheel area when i start backing up. Now all of a sudden I hear it all the time. When i stop a bit hard I hear a pop in the front, and when I accelarate again I hear the pop from the right front again. I dont hear it over bumps or anything like that just stopping and accelarating and when i back up.
Does anyone have this same problem?? I am so afraid to go to the dealer because thats when the sound will miraculously dissappear. Would rather have some idea of what it might be so I can tell them.
Thanks

It sounds like a bad cv joint. I don't really know how one could be out on an 07 but that's the only logical explanation I can think of.

Could be a defective part though or damaged during shipping and just now gettin bad.
