i am going to be swapping an engine out of a 2001 jetta 2.0l(avh) this weekend and need to know if i can take it out of the top of the car or if it has to go out the bottom. i am a saturn tech so i should have all the necc. tools and such but i would like to do it at home in my garage. i am doing this for my wifes uncle and have never worked on a jetta before. i was told it should be removed from the bottom. any help would be appreciated.

i thought that if the front core support and grill and bumper were taken off, they come right out the front from what im told
