01 jetta 1.8 rough start up

i have an 01 jetta wolfsburg 1.8l and when i let it sit overnight or for a while i try to start it up and the vehicle starts then immediately shuts off. If i give it a little gas when i start it it starts and runs, but studders for a minute then it will run fine. Its the only time it does that is cold start up. Any advice?

It's almost normal for cars to do that when it's cold. All those fluids in the engine just sitting there, it's all good, no worries.

no i checked the injectors and cyl 4 injector was leaking. The vehicle starts up and stalls, also runs wicked rough when cold, so bad it jerks when you give it gas, believe me its not normal but thx for the post
