Hey guys!
I found this forum looking into an issue im having with my 2003 GTI 1.8T. 46K Miles
I was driving lastnight and I started to overheat. I turned off the AC, cranked the heat and poped her outta gear. Right away the temp went back down to 190. The car is totally fine if its running, just when its in gear it overheats.
Any ideas?

 

Welcome! As far as your problem goes, not a clue. That's pretty weird, never heard of that happening, but will def do some research on it. If you find out anything, please let us all know.

 

if i was u i would check the water pump but there is other few things that could of went but my guess water pump good luck

 

if i had a turbo, i'd for sure install a oil cooler


such would help your over heating issue
