TDI CLICKING NOISE

I have a 1.9 tdi golf 1999. when i put my foot down in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear i get a clicking noise it only happens wen i push the accelerator down. ive taken it to a garage and they cant find anything wrong. can anyone help me??
