satellite navigation system

I intend buying a Golf GTI, and would like satellite navigation. Should I buy the installed option? Does anyone have any experience of it?

If you're talking about GPS, I would never get it installed. The reason I travel alot, and I got friends who bring their Tom Tom or whatever they have that either plug in the cigarette lighter or the jack that Ipods use. You can take them anywhere!!

Hate to say it but stock GPS systems suck ass, especially the VW's. I have an A/M double din DVD player/Garmin navigation unit from Kenwood that works flawlessly. Backup camera compatible as well, able to do XM radio/sirius radio/watch dvds while driving/ipod capable/usb capable/etc. Worth the money
