Not Sure What To Do
Hello
I have a 1999 GTI VR6 with a 160k mileage on it.
I just came from a mechanic that said that it would be best and cheapest to buy the engine rather than fix it. The problem with the car is that there is a busted piston/valve located in the back-middle of the engine. Rather than taking the engine apart, fixing, and putting it back together it would save a lot of work and time to just replace the engine.
Plus, the brakes and rotors need to be changed and needs new clutch.
Should I get a new engine with low mileage, have the mechanic take it apart, or sell the vehicle?
Thank you for reading and any suggestions would be helpful.
