Need some advice as to what i should do first to make my '06 1.8 GTI gain more power

I have a stock 2006 1.8 GTI with 75,000 miles on it. What should i do first to gain horsepower? cold air? exhaust system. Im not that mechanically inclined so this might be a simple question to some. What would be the most logical purchase? and suggestions are appreciated

There are loads of performance kits available for the GTI if you Attachment 3113 then the chip tuning is a common one.
