Need Help Dealing with Leaky Sunroof and No Help From VW

Hi,
I have a 2007 GTI. Last winter, the sunroof starting leaking and I had my local mechanic clean out the drain tubes, which fixed the problem. This winter, I again began finding water in the floor of my car, and I decided to take it to the dealer. They told me it wasn't the drain tubes, that I had a crack in my sunroof and it needed to be replaced for $1,800, which I did. Several weeks later, after it snowed and rained, it leaked again. They have run water tests and cannot find anything. They say there is "residual water" from the first leak which is causing it and want another $900 to dry out the carpeting. I dried out the carpeting myself and I know it was more wet after the snow/rain. I might be willing to pay $900 if they would commit to take care of the problem if it leaks again, but they won't commit to anything. I have already contacted VW Customer Care and they won't offer anything either. I really don't know what to do. My car is leaking, I have already spent $1,800 and can't even sell the thing, because it leaks. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. Attachment 2535

I know they have problems with leaking sunroofs as you've found out at great expense.

Clearing the sunroof drains, fixing a broken line, or the Audi and VW sunroof recall
