nasty surprise may be coming
Our Passat TDI-SE radio decided to work but WITHOUT sound. Turned on & off, changed channels, changed FM to AM -- BUT NO SOUND.
Stopped at grocers and when I came out, Radio just fine. Complained to dealer.
Was told he's seen a LOT of this with this radio and it means it's about to fail COMPLETELY. On a 2015 model Passat!
I've never had a radio fail and this car is just 4 years old! REALLY!!!! I'm supposed to pay for a brand new radio on a 4 year old car !!!!

Which radio/sat/nav model is fitted?
You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.
