nygtiguy if you're looking at swapping out the turbo presumably for more power there are many things that need to be considered.
1. Will the engine internals be able to handle the extra boost
2. Will the fuel system be able to supply the extra fuel needed
3. Will the drivetrain cope with the extra power
4. You will probably need an aftermarket computer to manage fuel and spark
5. How much do you want to spend?

To get a bit more power without going to all this trouble you can just try the basic mods such as cold air induction, exhaust, and getting your ECU chipped.
These cars are new to me but the above are many of the problems I've encountered while building a 400rwhp RX7. Anything can be achieved, it's just a matter of time and money.

2002 gtis are infamous for having a poor rear motor mount... when you add horsepower you have to make sure you replace the rear motor mount...
