Infotainment issues on 2023 GTI
 

Hi - recently bought a brand new 2023 GTI. Car is a delight to drive, however the infotainment system will freeze, black out, generate “Component Protection Active” errors, restart and cycle every few minutes, and disable safety features like cross traffic. Very unfortunate for a new car. Took it to the dealer and they cleared codes, and said “this is a software issue VW needs to issue an update.” Called other dealers and honest ones said they’ve seen this a lot.

issue goes away for a few days then comes back.

anyone else experiencing this? Anyone solve this issue?

frustrating problem for a new car.

I have a 2016 GTI so I can't really comment too much on the new all-in-one electronic screen that controls everything.

However, I've noticed that the reviewers hate it ( Car & Driver , Road & Track , Consumer Reports , etc. )
