GTI Steering Wheels
 

Hello everyone. I am new to this site and I'm looking to buy a GTI, preferably 2002 and up. I have one question though. I've noticed that 2001 GTIs have a 4 spoke steering wheel. I have seen some 2002 models with that same 4 spoke steering wheel, and others with the newer 3 spoke steering wheel. Now my question is why do some 2002 models have 4 spoke and some 3 spoke steering wheels. I thought it might be an option with the manual trans., but that doesn't seem to be it. Does anybody here know???

I believe that the earlier 02 models had four spokes and i know that the auto trans GTIs came with 4 spoke steering wheels. I had an 03 it had a 3 spoke it felt pretty nice. Id go 3 spoke but thats just my opinion. Oh btw look around for a while before you buy because i got an 03 1.8T with 17k miles fully loaded, best package, black leather, 5 speed for just $14,100.
