Default Fried ECM?

I have a 02 GTI. I was replacing one of the coil pack connector, and when I finished the car wouldnt start. It cranks just fine but wont turn over. I took it to VW and they said I friend my ECM. Is it possible that I might have wired the connector wrong? Or is it possible that one of the bare wire was touching the valve cover, and when I turned the key it fried it? Im just trying to figure out what all i need to replace before taking it back to VW to have the new ECM replaced. Thanks.

My question is, shouldn't this be blowing a fuse before it pops the resistor in the circuit board? Also, are all circuits connected to the ECM? I assume so since it needs to up the fuel injection to compensate for the increased power consumption. The car ran fine until I turned my A/C on. Then it fried the ECM. I assume a short in the A/C circuit? Any help on where to start would be appreciated. Do relays go bad? The car is a 94 Celica however the wires appear to be fine. No corrosion or cracked wiring.
