They people at the VW dealership said that my ECM had burnt up. The car cranks but doesnt turn over. Its almost like its getting no gas or a spark. It was either a bad coil pack, or it was from when i replace the coil pack connector. I was planning on buying a used ECM and just having the dealership program it. But I noticed that theres different ECM, such as one for ABS and another for the transmission. Which ECM am I looking for?

 

Your just looking for the ECM (Engine Control Module) that controls all the components of the engine. The ABS it has its own control module. The transmission is TCM, which is also a separate one... You should try checking the coil pack connector again.
