Default do i need new spacers or what?

I've got a 2006 Jetta TDI - just got some rims off a 2007 Jetta. Here's my problem. They don't FIT in front !!! i'm being told the "spacers" need to be replaced. I baught this car used and it had some after-market rims on it.
so, new spacers? Is there any way to confirm this need?
also - where can i get some new spacers?

all help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Mike

What do mean by they dont fit? Do they stick out to far, dont fit at all......normally spacers are made to stop it from rubbing some where on the car. A spacer is really a spacer tho you shouldnt have to replace it unless it is cracked. You may need hub rings.....Im not sure but the offsets for the cars couild be differnt sometimes they change them when newer years come out and that could cause them not to fit. And also if it is spacers you need you can get them at any tire and rim shop. Some places may not keep them in stock but any of them can get them. You always have to be careful when buying rims off of someone always test fit them first cause like i said just cause its the same kind of car the fitments and even bolt patterns can change from year to year.

the lug pattern works. but the rim doesn't sit properly on the wheel hub assembly because the part that goes INTO the center of the rim doesn't fit. it's just a TINY little bit too wide.

Thoughts?

Hey sorry dont know if you got your solution yet but you can use a spacer to pull it out a lil but but on like a 5mm spacer if you go to wide you wont have enough of your lug put on to safley hold on your wheel
