Got my 07 on a professional scale today and the results are impressive. Here are the exact weights of the 07 GTI with no spare tire and no driver:
Curb Weight Total No Gas No Driver : 2953
Curb Weight Total Full Tank No Driver: 3069.834
Heavier than the older models yes, but still sporty.
