09 GTI revving up when decelerating downhill

09 GTI revving up when decelerating downhill

Noticed this the past few months. When I slow down on a hill, even a small one, revs will shoot up. Has anyone else experienced this?

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

Have you gotten a simple tune up? The spark plugs may be bad.
