Default torque specs for front wheel

hello, i have an 1985 golf diesel. sweet ride, anyway, i had to replace a wheel bearing, and i have got almost everything done but the main nut that holds the wheel on i have question with. My book tells me to torque it down, but for some reason, misses the main information i need, what do i torque the nut down to? I figure i just can't tighten it down snug, it has to be torqued to something. Please let me know. also when i purchased the car, he said the cd player he installed made the cruise control not work anymore. i didn't really care about that but now i wish it worked. anybody know how to find a good wireing diagram for the cruise control?

thanks
