I was wondering if i put a super charger on my golf how will it affect the gas mileage? I have a 1998 Golf VR6.

Default RE: Super charger/ gas mileage?

Yes it will. The engine is what turns ther S/C. It uses more power and always robs horsepower. A turbo kit would be more efficient if there's one for VR6's and you can get great gas mileage with proper tuning of the pcm. But in general you can usually get the same type of gas mileage, usually not as good without a power adder but in all cases turbo's or S/C's the more you push on it the more gas you're going to use.

Excuse me if my explanation is a little vague, I'm visiting up north and they have clean air, believe or not. I need more smog....helps me think. hahahahahaha
