Steaming up Golf GTi mk4

Hi All. I have a mk 4 Golf GTi with climate control. No matter what I do with the settings, the windows occasionally steam up, and the only way to clear them is to open the windows. The system was re-gased recently, but did not fix the problem. I can get chilled air, but the hot air always feels moist.

Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thanks.

Have a similar problem.....in my case it is a leak at the heater core, fluid leaking unto it evaporating into the cabin....parts are not too expensive, labor will be.

Thanks for your input guys. Is this something that a garage could easily confirm, or is it a labour intensive job to get to the heater core to have a look?

Somebody else suggested the problem may be due to a jammed recirculation flap in the Climatronic system...therefore thecabin may only be getting recirculated air??

Thanks.

you can look under the center console and see if you can spot any coolant
