Is the Scirocco like a golf?

Hello people,

The site I write for got a VW Scirocco recently to review and we thought it was a lot like a Golf when we took it for a drive.

I personally love Golf's, so after hearing that the Scirocco drives a bit like a Golf but offers the squashed coupe look I thought - what a combination.

What does everyone else think? Do you reckon it is like a Golf?

Here is our review anyway:

The 2013 Volkswagen Golf has a high-quality interior, spacious cabin and fuel-efficient diesel engine, but the Golf is also one of the most expensive cars in its class.
For the class, the 2013 VW Golf has an above-average safety score. However, one of its biggest drawbacks is its below-average reliability score. The base 2013 Golf is powered by a 170-horsepower, five-cylinder engine and a five-speed manual transmission. Other than the standard manual transmission, there are two optional automatic transmissions. The base engine is powerful for the class, but a few reviewers think it sounds unrefined. Several test drivers are also disappointed with its fuel economy ratings of 24/31 mpg city/highway. An optional diesel engine achieves much better gas mileage of 30/42 mpg, though it makes less horsepower than the base engine. Reviewers think all of the transmissions are smooth. Overall, auto writers appreciate the Golf’s accurate steering and strong brakes. Auto writers recognize that the VW Golf is one of the most powerful affordable small in the class and say it’s more than capable of handling daily commutes, but some are disappointed that it isn’t more fun to drive

Volkswagen Golf 6 vs Volkswagen Scirocco?

Which is the better car for doing 700 motorway miles per week in.

The Golf does do 2 more mpg and has another seat but am not sure on the styling. I like that on the Scirocco

Which would you buy?

If neither, I am open to suggestions - but I am 6' 5'' so nothing smaller than the 2 VW's above.
Must be larger diesels and around £22k-£25k.

NOT a Focus though.
