I have a 2012 Golf TDI with the factory rns315. When I first got the car, the rns315 would display song information when I used spotify over bluetooth. My battery went completely dead and since then the rns315 will not display the song information. I would really prefer to upgrade to a newer head unit with android auto, but the installation was a little out of my comfort zone, having to remove the center console to access the parking brake switch wire, and I am assuming that any head unit is going to require the same type of installation. So now I am trying to determine if there is a firmware update that is separate from the map update. I suspect that would fix the problem I am having,
