Default Removing stock radio...?

I just got a 2000 Golf. I would like to remove the stock radio (since it's only a tape player) so that I can put in a Kenwood that I had in my 94 Jetta.

How are you supposed to remove the stock radio? I tried getting it to slide out but it won't. What's the trick to removing it?
