Hey guyz i am new to the forum i have a 1996 Golf 1.8 litre...and i have been having a few problems starting it. I have gone out a few mornings after a good rain the night before and turned the key and there is simply nothing no click notta. A few weeks before this started happening i noticed on start up that the speedo and tac were both spiking when it was started just for a second....i am just worried that its somthing to do with VW electrics??

 

hey man i have been having some issues with the starting of my car also...i have found that in the mornings the car will start right up but after work on a hott day the car wont start at all, unless i push the clutch really far to the floor...like almost threw the dam floor...lol....if anyone can help us out please respond. i think maybe it could b a short in your ignition switch. that is what i think it is in mine
