Default Parts Guy needs Help!!!

I am a parts distributor, as a rule I sell to mechanics... As a rule I can find just about anything anywhere for any european car out there... but im stumped on this... two weeks on this one and no leads... never been here before, but im hoping that You guys in the forums may have had some luck or knowledge of this.

A GREAT customer/friend of my shop recently had his 20th Ann Golf busted into.. they stole his radio... but in doing so they destroyed the GTI Chrom Tag.. was indiviaually numbered 3988. Its located directly above the radio console.

have found part numbers like crazy, i even resorted into going to the Vulture dealears to locate it... I have even spent hours in vagcat.com looking for it... and nothing.

If anyone has ANY idea what can be done to locate this part or even a point in the right direction pelase let me know.

I did as well take it upon myself to ask Volkwsagon North America, but when they asked me what year it was, I wanted to hang up... they only made it in 03... they were no help.

ANY help at all would make me SO SO SO greatful. I wouldnt mind giving someone a discount at my shop if they could just help me accomplish this goal..

Thanks in advance guys,

The reason you can't find it, is because it was a one of
a kind, the only one made, with that number. The only thing
you can do is replace it with a regular tag (medallion) or
if you have a picture you could have one manufactured for
big bucks.
