I just bought a 86 GTI and as much fun as it is, starting it with a screwdriver is not. Nor is it fun to not have a key or, be able to lock the doors.

Can anyone tell me if there is a kit or something that has all new locks for the hatch/doors/groove box/ignition? If there is no kit is there a place to get them cheap???

Any help would be very much appricaited

 

junk yard is your best cheepest bet.

but if you check some of the V dub sites you might find something. (or ebay even)

I went to a junk yard and they wanted $80 for the ignition switch because I had to buy the whole steering colum... Yah... All the other locks where more moola![:'(]

 

ebay or some online store then i guess man....
