Need help interpreting ENGINE CODES...
Code Gurus, My check engine light went on recently so I got a vagcom cable to read them out--3 of them. Now that I have them, I have no idea what they mean or where to go from here. Can anyone look at my vagcom transcript and offer me some suggestions? This is for a 2001 VW Golf 2.0L A/T. Thank you for your help! Here is the transcript... RE: Need help interpreting ENGINE CODES...
Thanks for the reply. I checked out that website, but 2 of the codes are not listed there and the other provides the same description that the vagcom gave me. What I'm having trouble with is the interpretation of them. What the heck is it trying to tell me?
Here are my feeble guesses: 17551 - Load Calculation Cross Check: Upper Limit Exceeded P1143 - 35-00 - - **No Clue 16804 - Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold P0420 - 35-00 - - **Is this coming from the post-cat O2 sensor? Maybe I have a problem with the cat or the o2 sensor itself? 17574 - Long Term Fuel Trim Additive Air; Bank 1; Range 2: System too Rich P1166 - 35-00 - - **not enough air can get in system? air filter problem? THANKS!! |
