My Mk 3 keeps cutting out
 

I've taken it to two garages (one of them a VW dealer) and no-one can find anything wrong. The car will cut out without warning but everything stops - the engine, the electrics, the power steering, the lot. Has anyone had a similar problem and how did you fix it? thanks, Peteb
