Hi i have a mk3 golf 1996. i ran out of petrol yesterday put some more in today but car wont start it goes to but then it cuts out. But when i turn ignition key where the mileage should me it flashes in 02 im not sure why it wont start or what that code means any suggestions plz?? x

 

It's probably all down to a knackered window control unit, switches or motors. There are plenty of spare bits on Ebay & at breakers yards, and VWs of that age were renowned for naughty electric windows.

 

Thanks got it sorted now... something to do with the wiring behind the fuse box for the immobiliser....but still unsure of what that code is :S x
