mk3 golf gti dash problems
 

evrything was working fine untill starting motor failed
when i tried to start the car all dash went off and starter did not turn
changed the starter motor and now that works fine but the dash is still not working properly
temp gauge and fuel gauge is fine
clock and mileage on but goes off and stays off when ignition is switched on tuen ignition off and clock and mileage comes back on
tacho not working
illumination works fine
tried another dash which i no was working fine and that ones nothing works now....
checked all fuses and there all ok
any help please cant figure this out

I had the same problem on my golf. The car started and then the computer shut it down.
The sulution: format and load the car computer again then it should work ;)
but I'm not 100% that it wil fix it. I had to do it several times.

it starts and runs ok just gauges dont work etc and only since starter broke...all dash was fine when i turned key to start starter wouldn't start and everything went off now not working properly

Check the wiring???

If that doesn’t solve it then I have no bloody idea mate, sry: /
