Golf 4 automatic won't switch 2nd gear
hey guys,
I drive a 1998 1.9 TDI golf mk4, earlier today i was trying to teach a friend how to park, so we spent like 1 hour and 30 minutes going from D to R back and forth. When I started driving back home it wouldn't go to 2nd gear, I would slightly touch the accelerator pedal and it would go from 1,500 RPM to 4000 RPM and it wouldn't change to 2nd but keep going(someone told me that it was the transmission slipping, but I am not sure since I don't know much about cars). I took the car home, i let it cool down for around 20 minutes and went for another drive, this time it was changing gears perfectly.
Anyone had this issue? If so, how did you fix it?
