Default golf 1994 diesel turbo electro qeastion fuelpump

hey guys from the forum,

I have big problem and I hope to fix it soon so I can make it back to work on Monday.
somehow my fuel-pump wire burn up somewhere what is my guess because i have no power to it. (checked all the fuses, all good)
I hot wire a cable from fuel pump straight to the +battery and my car start and runs good.
so today I run 16 awg cable from fuel pump straight to the fusebox and hook it on number 18 (with tool, add a new circuits) the car start but will stall after couple min, and then when i start it again the time is shorter. it feels like something get hot and then turn off or something like that ?

what do I have to do to fix this problem ? thanks a lot Tim

Its hard to diagnose problems on the web when you can't see the motor.

Recheck fuses and connections.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

Thanks for your help, I can't do the test because I can't make it to the shop. Do you think 16 awg wire is to small ?

I don't recall the wire size to the fuel pump but 16 swg Standard Wire Gauge (I'm English so I don't use American Wire Gauge) should be ok to get it running.
