hi all i have a 1999 golf 1.4 petrol and i am having problems with the gearbox when the car is cold it takes a lot of effort to get the car into first gear you have to force it into gear but yet the rest of the gear s are fine but when the car is warmed up i can select first gear a lot easier does anyone have any ideas what would be wrong and can it be fixed or do i need to get a new gearbox.
