fan won't turn on
I needed to replace the water distribution pipe in my 1996 VW Cabrio.
I was able to get the part used from a golf- so i am posting in here as well as the cab forum- in hopes someone in here could answer.
Afterwards the car just completely overheats.
I would fill the resoviour to the proper line with coolant and the temp gauge just sky rockets. Eventually, it becomes so hot that the coolant spews out of the res causing it too leak out a bit.
I have noticed that the fans won't turn on- probably the reason why it's over heating.
BUT- I can't seem to figure out if I somehow disconnect or bumped something when changing the pipe- or
If I understand correctly, there's a cooling fan control module under the resv. Is it possible that this got damaged by the coolant leaking out of the resv, causing the fan not to work?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciatedAlso- after the car cools down- the resv. looks empty
