Dead computer??
 

I've recently inherited a 2005 Golf 1.6. Yesterday a bulb warning light came on, but there was no bulb fault, and today the display for the computer panel went out in mid trip. The car is just out of warranty (of course!!), overdue a service, and I'm in Spain until Christmas. Is the computer likely to be dead, or could it just be the display? I'd prefer to leave getting it fixed till I get home unless anyone knows a good VW garage in Pamplona! I'm new to the forum, but when I had a Renault I used the Renault forum a lot and it was really helpful and informative. Anway, if anyone has any ideas I'd be most grateful. Thanks a lot, Rob
