Unhappy Stalling problem

My 2012 Volkswagen Golf keeps stalling.

It started last fall (2017) with four stalls in traffic. It resumed again this past spring (2018) and ha been periodic ever since. I took it to my dealer twice. The crankshaft position sensor was fixed, and it still stalled. The purge valve was replaced, and that didn't work either. Those were the only repairs covered by warranty. My mechanic thinks it could be something not covered under warranty, but that could be anything . I fear multiple fixes costing hundred of dollars that don't solve the problem.

My mechanic suggested using premium gasoline with a fuel additive. I tried that. It didn't work. This problem has never occurred when my mechanic has the car, it's very random, and it only happens when I'm at a stop. I don't know what to do.

I have the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine.

It isn't easy to diagnose on the web.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

Thanks. No one else has ever suggested that to me. I'll suggest that to my mechanic, if he ever returns my calls.
