Clutch replacement?

Alright so I'm new to Volkswagen. I went to add some fluid to my trans and ended up filling my clutch with it. I asked a local VW shop and the man told me to drill a hole in the bottom of the clutch casing to let it drain out then pour gas through it to clean it. After drilling the hole nothing came out (it all leaked out from the seal between the trans and engine, is that supposed to happen?) I poured about a half gallon of gas through it. The problem got worse tho. Does the clutch have to be replaced or would it be because there is no pressure between the "leaking" seal and the hole I drilled. Almost forgot! My Golf takes about a full minute (maybe more) to get up to 25mph, I can't get it over 30mph even in 5th gear, Even a slight driveway incline will stop me unless I have a rolling start at it, and I got more "go" in reverse than any other gear.

P.s.
I didn't know where trans fluid went so I googled it and thought I was putting it in the right place from what google told me.

Well you've obviously found the wrong info when you Googled. Now there are differences on each model. You say you have a 1994 2.0 Golf so there should be a level and filler plug on the side of the gearbox about half way up. You remove this plug and dip your little finger inside if you can't feel any oil then top it up with the corrent grade oil 75W/90 Synthetic until it runs out of the same hole. There should be another level and filler plug on the side of the final drive. (See diagram)

The instructions given to remove the oil you poured into the wrong hole sounds ok. You say you drilled an hole but nothing came out. It should do if you drilled the hole in the correct place. There is sometime a hole already in the bell housing. In that picture you need to drill a hole in the top left picture under the two yellow level and filler pictures on the far left. You could have poured this oil somewhere else and not noticed.

I decided to just get a new clutch but I need my frame number. How do I find it? By the way thanks for the help. I won't be making that mistake again.

What do you mean by frame number don't you mean VIN number?

Sorry. It was the chassis number I can chose from "Chassis Number: 1H-R-038600" or "Chassis Number: 1H-R-038601" Neither of those are in the vin.

The chassis number and VIN number are the same thing its a 17 character number which is normally in the lower part of the windscreen.

Are they asking for the engine number, details in here?

I called a Certified VW mechanic. He said it didn't really matter as long as it's for a 94. I've already decoded the vin but all I really found out was that it was made at Volkswagen Mexico xD
