Check Engine Light Part 2 for 2000 Golf GLS
Ok so I took my car to a service center and upon doing a dyno on it they had told me the No. 2 cylinder was misfiring.
It's really not that noticeable, but annoys me somehow. I hear from doing some research that this is a common diagnosis when this Check engine light comes on. The car has the following done before I bought the car in Jan. 2007 * Distributor wires & spark plugs * Mass air flow sensor * Can't recall the others, but nothing major. What can be done to resolve this solution step by step? Should I replace the distributor cap & rotor first? Will changing the fuel filter help? How will I know if one of the fuel injectors are bad? What is the usual step to cure a misfiring on the No. 2 cylinder? Any advise would be a very warm welcome as I'm no mechanic by trade, but do not mind getting my hands dirty. Thanks and await any suggestions, advise or links to this problem. |
