bump/gulp/clonk -ing sound from the front suspension/axle

Hi.

I've reciently bought myself a golf mk4.
Everything is good except that I have this weird noise/sound.
When i drive up or down speedbumps, or when I drive i small holes on the street, my car makes this clonk noise.

Since I'm not too good with cars I, booked an apointment at MOT, the place you take your car to yearly for inspection and approval to be driving them on streets, they didnt find anything on the checks they do, I was hoping for a bushing, balljoint, tierod ends or similar, but nothing according to MOT..[&o]
But I can assure that this isn't supposed to be like this, there is something wrong! :(
Sound if coming from both sides at the front, as if the wheels were not tightened or the suspension damper nut weren't tightened enough.

Would like to ask if anyone knows if there is a known problem with theese cars, and if someone recognizes my story and can connect it to a known problem.

please let me know!

thanks
Dejan

I have the same car and a very similiar problem in the rear of the car. I have had it checked out and it is most likely my shocks/struts. It is in the shop being repaired as we speak. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
