Default Broken Ignition Switch?! Car Stranded, Please Help!

I have a 1999 golf gl with the 2.0. So after a long day at work, I go to start my car and quite possibly break the ignition switch. Due to a pissy mood I may have applied more pressure than usual, and I think I felt something snap. Now my entire ignition has play. It's like the ignition is a swivel and just freely goes back and forth. It does not catch at all or even begin to turn over. It's like there is nothing there inside. I have power (stereo, brake lights, etc.) but my stereo does say FM failed, and I hear a buzzing from my right speaker after I take the key out. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with anything. The steering wheel can move freely as well. ANY help is greatly appreciated, I need my car back and running ASAP.

Don't be so bleeding anxious you only posted this yesterday and people do have lifes outside forums.

I think you have explained your problem it looks like you need a new ignition switch if it doesn't operate as it should do.
