96 vw golf oil trouble help me!?
 

I'm driving through the middle of nowhere, and my oil light starts flashing and beeping. I don't know what's up with it, plus I'm in hicksville so there is nowhere to stop so I had to drive about 30 miles to get anywhere. I check the dipstick and its bone dry, so i put more oil in it to hold it over until i can bring it in. I check it in the morning, and all of it is gone. I took it in and turns out it was leaking from the filter and the seal on the oil cooler unit was crappy so they replaced it. It was fine for awhile, but now my oil light still flashes and beeps AFTER driving it for awhile and getting it all warmed up, and only if I hold the RPMs around 2000. If i run it at any higher of rpms it shuts itself off. if I hold it at 2000 and drop the rpms, it stays on unless i put the clutch in and give it a punch of gas, then it turns off until i get up to 2000 again.
any ideas? you guys are most likely smarter than me about VW. I used to own a saturn.

Have you checked for any other leaks?? Like the oil pan gasket?? Maybe, ur oil pump is going bad. What sort of engine do u have in that golf??
