96 Gti. Turns over but won't start. PLEASE HELP!
Re: P reg Golf Gti. Fitted with 'Auto Watch' immobiliser/alarm system. Just been away for two wks over Xmas. Before I went away I was having a bit of trouble with alarm going off randomly . To spare the wrath of the neighbours I disconnected the neg. battery terminal before I went away. Came back, connected it and alarm bleeped....seemed ok. However, engine turns but will not fire. Everything checked (spark, fuel etc) and in order but just cannot get it to start. Have I screwed up the computer? Do I need to reset something? Is it as simple as re-entering immob. code?
Any advice appreciated asap. Many Thanks

Do you have a stock radio or aftermarket head unit? Turn on the radio if stock if it says "safe" you have to take the radio out of the plastic housing and get the serial
number indented into the side of the radio and the vin to get a code from the dealer ship very easy to do . . Usually will happen after power is disconnected if spark fuel an compression are fine it will really only be computer or wiring problems make sure you shut off the alarm unlocking the door with the key first may help may not . I'm not sure what you have an haven't tried good luck
