96' Golf Will not start

Hi All,

My wifes 96' Golf GL will not start. I changed the cables and the starter. The cylinoid engages but then nothing. I tried to jump it to see if its the battery but nothing. What am missing?

Thanks

I had the battery tested and was fine. But we jumped it again and I think the started had a bad spot or some oil that burned off from MFG.
This car isn't very hard to work on. But when the starter is removed the engine drops. The bolts for the starter are also for the motor mount. Just a little advise for the next guy. Just jack the motor in place. Pick a good spot don't break the bel housing.
